Thanks to the music the film is still worth seeing. Superfly was also Curtis commercial breakthrough as a solo artist with two American top ten singles, "Freddie's Dead" and the theme song. He was moving towards a more funkier sound that worked perfectly as a score for the film as well as an album on it's own. Great music from an artist at the peak of his career. Five out of five, no question. |
