Ratings: TI **** JI ????? TI: A great album that opens very strongly with the funky “Get Down“ which is followed by the beautifull “Keep On Keeping On“, a classic Curtis song about believing in yourself, never giving up and raising from lying. Curtis have always known how to give people hope. When I started to listen to the man it was the music that first caught me but now I must say his lyrics is as inspiring for me “Underground“ is more funk in a style similar to Funcadelics first album. “We Got To Have Peace“ ends side one and is a god popsong. Side two opens with one of my favorites, “Beautiful Brother Of Mine“ whitch starts with harps and strings before the distorted bass takes over, real great! “Now Youre Gone“ is blues and the title tells it all. “Love To Keep You In My Mind“ is my other favorite and its a great love tune. I hate to give an album like this less than top rating but still its just a little bit weaker than his best work. But offcourse its a good bought so get down to the record store now... Re-released by Charly Records on CD. |
