TI: This is Curtis first solo work outside off The Impressions and what a debute! It kicks off with the nearly eight minutes long and very funky "(Don't Worry) If There's Hell Below We're All Gonna Go", the title just tells it all. Horns, strings, percussions, harpes..., this record have it all, just take a look at the impressive list off musicians participating. And it is, as always with Curtis, tastefully arranged. My favorite songs varies but right now I can't stop listening to "The Making Of You" and "We The People Who Are Darker Than Blue", but there is not one single bad or "okay" track on this album. The material is indeed very strong, maybe the strongest off all the albums. The original is very hard to get (anyone who's got an extra copy?) but luckily it's re-released on both CD and vinyl by Charly records. |
