Chicago Soul

by Robert Prouter

The book tells the story of the origin and development of Chicago soul music
from the late 50's through the late 70's. Musicians, producers, A&R men,

and there are separate sektions on Curtis Mayfield, The Impressions, Curtom
records, Jerry Butler etc.

I've just started to read the book but so far so good. This review will be
updated when I've finished the book. 400 pages in total and a massive list
of references after each chapter. Not too many pictures however if that's
what you want.

I ordered my copy from amazon.com over the net for approximately $20 plus postage.
